The 10 minutes digital video 100% Gray Coverage was derived from Reas' work Signal to Noise.
The latter is a collage engine, a program that uses terrestrial
television signals as raw material and transcribes them into new visual
images.
The video is abstract and moves at a rapid pace. However, elements
of what remind the viewer of television images appear occasionally, and
the speed with which animation and color sequences change recalls quick
editing and camera movements. 100% Gray Coverage visually combines the familiar television aesthetic with disruption, flicker, and distortion.
